After 32 Previews, The Boy from Oz ran on Broadway for eleven months at the Imperial Theatre. It opened on October 16, 2003 and closed on September 12, 2004. The producers decided to close the hit show rather than recast Jackman who had film obligations.
Personal Note: I saw The Boy from Oz on Broadway in June, 2004 and found it to be absolutely terrific. It was simply the best show I had ever seen on Broadway up to that time.
