In 1978 the Tony Awards switched television networks from ABC to CBS. Once again held in the Shubert Theatre the ceremony was hosted by Bonnie Franklin. The theme was “footlights”. There were four nominees for the 30th Tony Award for Best Musical presented at the 32nd Annual Tony Awards in 1978.
